Hello All,
The organization I chose to become a member of was the National Association and the Education of Young Children. Most educators know the mission of NAEYC, but if I was to give my own personal twist on their purpose, it would be to educate teachers, parents, policy makers, and all of those who have input into the lives of young children. I also chose two subscriptions : Young Children and Teaching Young Children English. Because of my new found love and interest in dual language learners, I began to search the site for resources and information on how to support dual language learners, and their families. You won't believe what March issue is about! Yes, Dual Language Learners! There are over one hundred pages on the topic. I am going to be a pro, when I finish this project!! If anyone is interested in learning more about how to support dual language learners in your classroom, the website address is: www.naeyc.org

Hello Margretta,
ReplyDeleteNAEYC is an extremely vital resource in the field of early childhood education. Many early childhood education centers strive to meet their requirements as being considered as an organization that offers high quality care for children. Young Children is an excellent source for parents, families, and educators as it provides a plethora of information through articles that touch on topics in the early childhood field. I enjoy reading Young Children and also learning valuable strategies and techniques, activities and research pertaining to children.
I agree, NAEYC is a great resource. You might want to check out DVAEYC as well. They are correlated to NAEYC and they hold an annual conference every year that allows for teachers, parents, and other educators to take a few training courses and become up to date with recent educational information.
ReplyDeleteI also love NAEYC Journals that come out in the mail once you become a member. They are a very useful source.
